Baked Brie with Honey, Walnuts & Pomegranate
A whole wheel of brie baked until soft and gooey, then piled high with toasted walnuts, jewel-like pomegranate seeds and a generous drizzle of warm honey. Ten minutes of work for the showstopper of the appetizer table.
Ingredients
- 8 oz Brie wheel
- 1/3 cup Walnut halves (or pecans)
- 1/3 cup Pomegranate seeds (or fresh cranberries)
- 1 1/2 tbsp Honey
- 1 pinch Flaky sea salt
- 2 Crisp apples or pears, sliced, for dipping
Directions
- Heat oven to 350°F. Toast the walnuts on a sheet pan for 6 to 8 minutes until fragrant, then roughly break them up.
- Set the brie on a parchment-lined baking dish and bake 10 to 12 minutes, until soft and gooey in the center.
- Warm the honey for 10 seconds so it pours easily.
- Pile the walnuts and pomegranate seeds on top of the hot brie, drizzle with the honey so it runs down the sides and finish with a pinch of flaky salt. Serve right away with apple or pear slices.
Calorie breakdown
Per serving: brie 95 · walnuts 33 · apple slices 24 · honey 12 · pomegranate 6 (add about 70 for 3 baguette slices)
💡 Lighter tip: Make it your own: swap the pomegranate for fresh cranberries (simmer them with the honey for 3 minutes until they start to pop) or use pecans instead of walnuts. Serve with apple and pear slices instead of crackers for a lighter dipper.
